I award this book two stars due to the benefit of the doubt- despite a start so dull and dry I couldn’t get through it in one sitting. I was so bored I actually had to double check that I had gotten the right book- THIS is what everyone had been raving about?

Unfortunately, yes. The benefit of the doubt will be given due to the translation, which I’m sure is difficult to master in literary terms. And the critics can’t all be wrong, so maybe it’s me. But this one was just not my cup of tea.
