Science fiction at its best. Each story is crafted around a core philosophical question, brilliantly explored. Simple, sensitive writing appeals to both the mind and the heart.

A novel that tries to do a lot, and mostly succeeds. In non-chronological order, we glimpse the evolution of a family from 1970s Cyprus and 2010s London. It is the story of star-crossed lovers, cultural trauma and conflict, mental illness, and of course, trees. We are guided by an omniscient narrator, but every few chapters our narrative shifts to a fig tree! The motif of nature is the underlying fabric of this story, as watcher, cause, and effect of human conflicts.
