The characters feel very detached from themselves and also bratty. Didn't know what to make of this book.

Lots of resentment in this book. The characters are torn between responsibility and independence.

It's an unflinching story about a concert pianist grappling with his ALS diagnosis and the impact this has on his ex-wife and daughter.

Very on the nose about how to communicate non-violently and inclusively. Not a lot happened plot-wise during this book but the ending was pretty cool

Blue sisters is about four sisters in their 20s and 30s. though only three sisters remain, their journey explores the balance between personal freedom and the deep sense of responsibility they feel for one another.

Nicky, the late sister, faced endometriosis, a condition often misunderstood by medical professionals and her own family.

I would have loved  to see the story through Nicky's perspective.

At the center of this book are two brothers who are grieving the death of their father and trying to get their love and professional lives together. Emphasis on trying...

I felt most for Sylvie who is dealing with chronic pain after a car accident and struggles with seeing herself as a complete person post accident.

In classic Rooney style, expect a whirlwind of miscommunication, destructive behavior, and a dash of capitalist critique.

The world building and writing are stellar. The magic system and history are intricate.

There is lots of violence especially against children. Be prepared.
