I will never know how she survived all of that. God bless her.

I think this is the weakest in the series so far—it was really nice to see the Baudelaires make friends, but the book was missing an aha moment/a classic twist

Hmm I think I did feel like I enjoyed it by the end, but I just finished Intermezzo (this was the only Rooney book I hadn’t read) and I feel like I am understanding why a lot of people didn’t like this book
Rooney is so great at fleshing out her characters and making you feel like you’ve spent so much time with them. That being said, I don’t know if I really felt these characters were all that likable, even though the book is meant to portray realistic struggles and thoughts that people in their late-20s (read: my age) go through.
Also there was just too much sex but maybe that’s just me—I felt like at least the sex scenes in Intermezzo were helpful in driving the plot along/giving the reader a deeper understanding of the characters

ooh this book stressed me OUT
I think it lacks a little bit of the really satisfying aha moments of the other books so far but still very good

Felt similarly about this as I did Ina Garten's memoir. Very good and entertaining to read, especially loved all the parts about her love with Lee, but I'm not RAVING about it.
