Vampire Academy: A Graphic Novel by Richelle Mead
4.0
Rating: 3.90
I know, I know, I should've read the novel first but whatever.
So this was basically an adaptation of the vampire academy series and it was beautifully done. So the story is that Rose and Lissa run away from St. Vladimir's academy and they've been on the run for two years that is until they're found and taken back to the academy. There Rose must redeem herself by training to a guardian so that she can protect Lissa in the future. She gets paired up with a fellow guardian, Dimitri Belikov, who hesitantly becomes her mentor. But as time passes on the two begin to fall in love with each other. But They know that they can't be together. And if that wasn't enough to send Rose on emotional roller coaster, Lissa gets kidnapped by a royal leading the would be couple to race against time to save the moroi princess.
Overall this was a great graphic novel and I really enjoyed it. I thought that Dimitri and Rose would make a wonderful couple and I really feel for Lissa, but then again she does an amazing best friend to be there for her. My only complaint is that I wished some scenes were a little longer than they were. Oh! And the art was beautiful! Hats off to the illustrator.
If you are a fan of hot vampires and amazing friends go read this.

This was bit slow in the beginning but it was an enjoyable story and quiet different from the other mangas I've read. I'm curious to see what happens in the next book.
If you like demons bound to humans by a kiss go read this.

Ares & Aphrodite: Love Wars by Jamie S. Rich, Megan Levens
Rating: 3.50
Plot-
Will Ares is a divorce lawyer working for Hollywood hotshot Evans Beatty, who is divorcing his former spouse and is planning to marry the young starlet Carrie Cartwright. Aside from the divorce, Carrie and Evans are planning their wedding and it's up to wedding planner Gigi Averelle to make our starlet's dream come true. Now obviously Will and Gigi will cross paths during this delicate time but who would've thought he'd attracted to a wedding planner, considering that his job is to essentially break marriages rather than make them happen. What's even more ironic is that our dear lawyer is a hopeless romantic and Gig's spunky attitude and game of 'hard to get' inevitably draw him to her.
But how will he ever get her to go out with him? Simple they make a bet. With all the chaos around Evans and Carrie, Gigi suspects that the two love birds will never make it to the alter but Will believes otherwise. So the two of them bet on love, their terms:
If Evans and Carrie push through all the obstacles and get hitched then Gig has to go on a date with Will.
If the young couple calls it off before the big day then Gigi gets to make an online dating profile for Will and can pick three dates for him.
If you wanna know who wins go read the comic.
Thoughts-
This wasn't my favorite comic but it had it's moments. Honestly sometimes it was a little info dumpy and i would get confused here and there with Beatty's ex wives and Carrie's self doubt. the romance was fast paced with plenty of humorous moments and adorable dialogue. But this was an okay read, it was not a book that had me swooning or dying to see what happens next. But i liked the idea, it was different and refreshing. Plus there was a little bonus story in the end that i enjoyed.
If you like hopeless romantics and wedding planners who don't believe in love go read this.

I enjoyed this one a lot more than the first manga. It was a lot more action packed and I loved the new characters that were introduced. The artwork was beautiful as always and I just loved this volume. I'm looking forward to reading the next instalment. Oh and before I forget to mention, I absolutely adore Tomoe's new appearance, who knew long hair on guys could be so sexy! ;)

Words can't describe how much I love this book.

This was my first adult read and I have to say I was blown away.
I love The romance between the main characters and I adore all the secondary characters as well.
Overall, great story, intriguing plot, swoon worthy romance and just plain out amazing.
Draven, hurry up with that second book! You're killing me here!
Definitely gonna read more of her books soon.

Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

This book was wonderful!
Written with a light heart and easy humour this book will have you laughing, crying, swooning and gripping the edge of your seat.
Plot
Told from the POV of Cat, a half human, half vampire, vampire hunter the book describes her relationship with Bones, a master vampire who hunts his own kind, a bounty hunter.
Thoughts
This was a wonderful book that I could not put down.
I love Bones! He's the kind of guy that makes you scream, "God! Why can't he be real! WHY!"
Enough said.
Cat on the other hand is just as loveable. However her mother, Justina has pretty much hard wired her to believe that she is a monster for someone else's actions. This in turn causes Cat to become a vampire hunter herself.
I hate Justina for what she's done and because of her Cat couldn't bring herself to realize that Bones loves her until later in the book.
Overall great book. Go read it.
My favourite quotes/ scenes.
"Is that a stake,Bones,or are you just happy with my new dress?"
"My brain had a back in five minutes sign hung on it, apparently"
"Sweet Holy Jesus, why couldn't the ground just swallow me?"
"I had PMS and a test this morning."
"Bones just stared. "You're not a woman," he said finally. "You're the grim reaper with red hair!"
"Come on, kitten, let's go. Before you murder someone else."
There are a lot more. I'm just too lazy to type them all. Go read the book to see for yourself.

I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella

Where do I start?
This was amazing!
I love the relationship between poppy and Sam.
Starting off with each of them loathing the other and escalating to friendship and finally love. Kinsella takes you through each stage of the relationship.
I enjoyed the footnotes as well very funny.
I love the Yamasaki scene. Sam saying 'watching' god that killed me! Also the jewelry store bit was hilarious

The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson

Memento Mori. Remember that you will die.
Plot:
Meet Ted Severson, a wealthy businessman who thought that money could buy him anything in the world but alas, he was wrong and that little assumption costs him more than he could ever imagine.
But he could blame him? He had millions of dollars to his name, a glorious career and a drop dead gorgeous wife, perfect right? Wrong.
The one thing money can’t buy is a faithful wife. Ted discovers his spouse, Miranda Hobart, now Severson, screwing around with his house contractor, who was building them their dream house with Ted’s money.
When Ted makes this shocking discovery his first thoughts are, “I wanna kill that bitch,” but he needs a little motivation. Enter Lily Kintner, a red headed beauty who has a twisted sense of morality and is all the motivation Ted needs. On a flight from London to Boston, she and Ted get to know each other and in a game of absolute truth, reveal each other’s most intimate secrets. And during this game, Ted explains his delicate situation to her and tells Lily about how he would love to kill Miranda for her infidelity. What he didn't expect from this mysterious woman was that she actually convinced him to follow through with his thoughts and so a twisted game of murder and madness begins, a game in which only the smartest and experienced players survive…
Characters:
Now I did enjoy the characters in this book, they were considerably developed and interesting to read about. And keep in mind that this is a thriller and things move pretty fast but that being said the characters were enjoyable and wonderful.
Lily was your cold and calculating woman who observes everything and is smart enough to think of all the outcomes but is secretly lonely.
Ted’s your typical rich husband, a man who never has time and is overworked but his desires and ideas will shake you and his willingness is just as dangerous as a wild animal.
Miranda, your two faced bitch, who is manipulative and cunning. The kind of woman that looks sweet and sexy on the outside but is secretly wondering how she can use you.
Brad Daggett, your tall and handsome idiot who looks delicious but is incredibly thick and therefore easy to control to your heart’s desire.
And lastly, Detective Henry Kimball, a sweet shy and awkward man who trusts his gut to a fault and that just might get him killed.
I know, I know, the characters sound predictable but trust me once you start reading the novel their typicality won’t even matter.
Thoughts:
AMAZING!!! I adore psychological thrillers and at first I was a bit hesitant to start reading this book since I usually prefer male protagonists but this had me sucked in after the first few pages and that’s saying something since I haven’t finished a book this fast in MONTHS. But this thriller had me hooked and I was dying to know what happened. And this book was twist city and I was honestly so shocked at some of the plot twists, like the first one, I didn't even see that coming and most of the time I figure out the plot twist before it even happens so that was a shocker. But overall, amazing read, hands down one of my favorites. And I really liked detective Kimball, I honestly thought he was adorable when he was about to die, I was like “not him! Come on, please not him! I like him!” Glad to see he was unharmed.
Down below are a few of his limericks that I just had to include:
There once was a husband named Ted,
Who met his end in a volley of lead.
It was clear he was rich-
And his wife was bitch-
So it’s not a surprise that he’s dead.
There once was a girl named Miranda,
It was clear that no one could stand her.
But beneath all that crass
Was an excellent ass,
So the rich men all lined up to land her.
There once was a novelist’s daughter
Whose eyes were the green of seawater.
I hoped to remove
Her clothes to prove
That naked she’d look even hotter.
There once was a copper named Kimball
Whose brain was as big as a thimble
He followed a girl
All over the world
In hope that at sex she’d be nimble.
There once was a girl with red hair
Whose bottom I hoped to see bare
The chance this would happen
Was one in a million,
But I’d settle for lace underwear.
I'm sorry I couldn’t resist.
Anyways, if you enjoy books with beautiful psychotic redheads and obsessive and adorable detectives, go read this.
