I get lost in chris carters writing in the Robert Hunter Series. Every book is better then the last one. He definitely knows what he is doing. I can never put them down.

While the world is being built around you and the development of the characters, you are growing with them as well as the dragons in the story. Love, death, found family, and war and magic. You just want to jump in the book and become a rider with them!
