now i want a diet lemonade
i’m not sure how much growth happened with tori but i like that throughout the story, she becomes more aware of how her mental health is playing a role in her life and how it also plays a part in the people who cares for her lives
i am glad for how it ended and, as a lover of Heartstopper, how it all tied together in the universe

fav character: Bowe and Gwen (NOT Carrie 🙄)
fav quote: “We live in a world where exceptional women have to sit around waiting for mediocre men.”

i wish we got more than how it ended
this book is so inspiring though. just because you hit 30+ in age, doesn’t mean you have to give up on your dreams
the main character, Carrie, is certainly a character. she needs to CHILL the heck out..
anyway, made me a little sad but i didn’t have enough tears for it to be a 5/5

fav character: Rachel
fav quote: “I am overwhelmed with love for my mom right now. She always knows just what to do. When do you learn that in life? When do you learn what to do?”
3.5⭐️
this book is TJR’s second novel so they have grown so much since this but boy was this book cringey in some parts
overall, i enjoyed the story and how much you learn and grow with the characters
as someone who is in a long-term, serious relationship (with pets), this story hit me a little harder than i expected

🌶️🌶️🌶️ (halfway point and onward)
i am not a big fan of modern day references and there were a lot of them for current day social media and taylor swift (love). even though im not a fan does not mean this book wasn’t written well because boy it WAS
the main characters have insane chemistry immediately and the FMC is plus size so we love that even more
i loved the healing the main characters went through and the romance part of the book was written well too!
i would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes built up tension, grumpy/sunshine, plus size rep, and isn’t thrown off by modern day references 💞

fav character: Gabby (and nurse Hannah)
fav quote: “Life is just a series of breaths in and out. All I really have to do in this world is breathe in and then breathe out, in succession, until I die.”

this book hurt my feelings and gave me anxiety
but also in a good way?
i wasn’t sure if i would enjoy the back and forth between 2 different universes but holy cow…truly, one choice can set multiple worlds into motion and i think this book was so well written for that

ok definitely cried for this one
i LOVE how we got a bit of lore from the six crimson cranes, the other series from this author.
i also love that we got to learn more about Edan and spent more time with other characters in this book

the world building of this book was very good. i did not feel as attached to the characters as i want to be in a book so i feel kind of meh for the ending. the plot itself is so exciting though. i will be immediately starting the next one and just hope i grow to love them a bit more and will shed some tears unlike this one

fav quote: “No matter how strong you are, no matter how smart you are or tough you can be, the world will find a way to break you. And when it does, the only thing you can do is hold on.”

this book goes DEEP into the five stages of grief. be prepared
i was not a big fan of the constant back and forth between past and present but i understand it was so we got to meet ben and learn to love him more than just that first chapter. overall, this was a very nice read. taylor’s writing, even as her first novel, is delicious.
my heart hurts but i love how it ended.
