Shockaholic by Carrie Fisher
3.0
I loved Wishful Drinking and even saw Ms. Fisher perform her one-woman show on Broadway. That said, Shockaholic didn't quite live up to my expectations. Funny at times, it lacked focus and purpose. Fisher was witty as always, but what was the point she was trying to make? Maybe that she can still write even after her treatment. Honestly, I'm enjoying her recent flurry of Facebook posts more than I enjoyed this book and they're FREE! Still, she's a mess and I love to read her. Look at me failing to make a point and having no focus whatsoever. I guess we have more in common then I realized...
This Is How: Proven Aid in Overcoming Shyness, Molestation, Fatness, Spinsterhood, Grief, Disease, Lushery, Decrepitude & More. For Young and Old Alike. by Augusten Burroughs

I love Augusten, but this book felt forced. Like he had nothing to say. It wasn't funny, interesting, or revealing. If you're feeling yourself in an Augusten mood, read one of his older books, not this one.
