This book was an absolute disappointment. When I read the summary, I was excited because the idea had great potential to it, but after I finished it, I was extremely disappointed. This book had absolute great potential, but the characters were bland and not very memorable. They didn't leave an impression on me, not even the olympians. The olympians should have at least been memorable because come on, they're gods. The character that I even remotely liked was Henry. His development was somewhat constant, compared to Kate who was hot and cold about whether she should have stayed with Henry or not.The test was too easy. WAY TOO EASY. The only villain was Cassiope, or Hera, apparently. I expected it to be way more adventurous and since it was a first book and seven tests, each book would be some sort of test. But no, all SEVEN tests were passed in one book. And nothing remotely dangerous and exciting happens. It's just one big sigh wrapped into a book. All I can say is that it was an absolute disappointment. And to think that there are more to come. The idea in itself isn't bad, it's just the plot and the characters that are disappointing.
