What a fantastic read. The enemies to lovers trope is well done, with a gradual slide to love. His "recovery" is also well done. Both characters really grow in believable ways.  Totally love.

I was surprised to enjoy this.  It was sweet, and a perfect fit for "dork in the streets, Dom in the sheets." Not what I would normally expect from a vampire story.
Also, spice was well done, just sayin.

This book is... ok. The story idea was good, just not well executed . The characters just didn't jive for me, their connection felt shallow. In fact the mfc's interactions with EVERYONE felt shallow. Step siblings, step dad, Seraphina-  every side character only exist  to move the plot forward. No reasoning for why they made the choices they did.  After about 65% I just skimmed to the ending, which is a cliffhanger, and yet I still don't particularly care what happens next.

The first two books were really interesting and a unique twist on the traditional Greek mythology. But this one felt so rushed and shallow. I didn't feel any connection between the main characters; their chemistrywas non-existent and their "love" was like an off/on switch. The addition of 6 addional gods/ goddesses felt anticlimactic and added nothing to the story. Main bad guys felt shallow after all the build up. Even the "spice" felt transactional through the end. I really wanted to like this, but I just can't.

I *love* hurt-her-and-die trope. I do. But sitting back and watching as she's abused and 🍇ed for 5 years, then watching it yourself and doing nothing until it fits your schedule? Yeah, no.

This was a quintessential Hallmark movie in book form.  Just as comforting, just as forgettable.
