Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates

Beautifully written. Coates has an awareness that is enviable and awakening. He provides a perspective that is unforgettable, heart wrenching, and exquisitely eye opening. I highly recommend this book.
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness

I loved this book! However, I will say that if you do not enjoy details and a powerful woman starting off seemingly weak until she finds herself, then this would not be a book for you lol. I've read a ton of reviews by people who LOVED it and a ton who absolutely hated it. Personally, I think that some of the reviews were a little telling of the person's personal life and they were shitting on the book because they are dead inside or wanted to read something with a romance that is NC-17 lol. I did not feel that the romance left me wanting and I like details when an author is creating an entire world and Harkness fulfilled this for me. BUT I can totally see why some would not enjoy it due to the length and the amount of details included. Just FYI if you do end up giving it a chance.
Midnight Crossroad by Charlaine Harris

Decent quick read
A good book to read if you are looking for something easy to get through without too much thought. I would have given it 3.5 stars but am unable to do so bc the review thing won’t let me. Overall, I liked it but it didn’t blow me away or anything. Honestly though, I was looking for something just like this for that reason exactly and it worked out perfectly!
