Note: I read an early, unfinished copy of this book.

An enjoyable fantasy read set in an interesting city. There were times I felt a bit in the dark or unclear at what was being insinuated, past the point of keeping a bit of mystery, and then at times a little info dumpy. I really liked the characters and the plot itself and will definitely read a sequel

Really enjoyable read, but I do feel like this series could have been condensed into fewer books

A really enjoyable read. Paced well with interesting characters. I loved the chapters reflecting on past memories too - such a clever way to give insight into characters & relationships!

I enjoyed this but not as much as book 1. The pacing was a little slow and it didn’t flow as well as it could but it was still an entertaining read!

Enjoyable but not my favourite of hers. I don’t feel like it flowed as well as it could have, and the balance between Alice’s story and Margaret’s/the interviews was a bit off for me.
