This was such a cosy read šŸ„¹ā¤ļø I gave it 5 stars, maybe because I could relate to the nerdiness of the characters? But their crush for each other felt a lot more natural and wholesome.

Also a love interest who loves to clean? Now books are talking šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

This was actually a cute one! While more pacing would have been nicer, I understand itā€™s a short story so it almost feels a bit like insta-love but this was super cute!

The first chapters start out with a 911 call with Christmas elements and I thought that was so cute! Thereā€™s other Christmas touches, plus firemen, plus small town!!

Just what I was looking for in this collection āœØ

If the meaty van is a-rocking donā€™t come a-knocking šŸ¤£

This was wild - I loved the forced proximity and ā€œonly one van and itā€™s cold and we have to preserve body heatā€ but what a strange Christmas story.

This book feels like it was written by a man šŸ˜‚

Insta-lust with a gigantic man where this was basically smut with slight Christmas mentions.

ā€œThey donā€™t make pants that fit me. They donā€™t make woman that fit me eitherā€

Too-big and degradation can be written so much better.

But fun hints towards Gilmore Girls:
- romantic interest is named Luke
- main character is a single mom who is running a thrift shop
- MC moved to a small town after stopping at a DINER and saw an ant hill on/near a HARDWARE store. Basically same sentence mention

Freida McFadden does it again! I listened to this audiobook while working out and let me tell you sometimes I didnā€™t even notice that I was working out (life hack) šŸ˜‚

The audiobook for this was crisp, delicious! Itā€™s a dual POV where everything links up in the end and the plot twist!!! Freida is the queen of them. I was guessing so many things throughout this book šŸ˜‚ but youā€™re just never sure until it happens and you sometimes have to just pretend thereā€™s a hidden camera for you to gasp at

So, so, so good!

Also a little tip - Audible has 3 months for $0.99 a month until 31 Dec so go sign up and then listen to this šŸ˜ŒāœØ

4 star read but the reasons why this author wrote this book pushed it to a 5 star šŸ¤©

We follow Costanza and her story - growing up in near poverty, she marries and is living a modest but good life. Until the famous sculptor has his eye set on her and her fire.

This tale will show you how fire can engulf, consume, reignite.

The author wrote this book to give Costanza her voice. Sheā€™s been referred to as Beniniā€™s mistress for so long and here is her story (obviously itā€™s historical fiction, thereā€™s some embellishments to the story, etc). The author took a stand at giving victims their voice back. Her reason of writing brought me to tears.

The way itā€™s written is also captivating, even though thereā€™s not much happening in certain parts, it draws you in and makes you want more.

5 šŸŒŸ!

I procrastinated reading this for so long because I was so worried that it might not live up to the insane hype or that I might not like the book everyone was giving 5 stars to (itā€™s happened before).

But wow šŸ¤© this book was incredible! Itā€™s now in my top faves āœØ

Dragons, magic, survival, war, enemies to lovers, an anxious MC, funny banter, a shadow daddy - this book has it all šŸ¤

I feel stronger after reading it, almost like us as the reader actually tackled the parapet, hand to hand combat, and all those challenges together.

So excited to dive into the Iron Flame readalong šŸ’–

I DNF this book.

Thank you so much to the author for reaching out and sending me a review copy. That was so sweet and kind šŸ’–

Unfortunately, I couldnā€™t continue reading this book. It looks like a really great plot is there but there is a lot of editing needed still.

The way itā€™s written seems to contradict itself sometimes. It isnā€™t very descriptive. The characters arenā€™t written in a way to connect us to them.

There were also some aspects I couldnā€™t get through - Wince is not something that makes a sound.

This is all constructive criticism, with some editing Iā€™m sure this could turn into an incredible story ā¤ļø there is real potential, it just needs to be worked on a bit.

Thank you again to Salini Sharma for giving me this review copy - I wish you all the best x

Do I love this book or love it not?

I love it šŸ¤

Okay, at first Poppy got on my nerves šŸ˜‚ how can anyone have that much drama and be that dramatic? Plus the incompetence at work, the perfectionist in me could never! But in the end she had me laughing away.

Poppy - an actress - is desperate for money and takes a job sheā€™s not qualified for. Showing up in a wig, dramatic glasses, a fake name, and 80s clothing. From rescuing hurt pigeons, to dangling from her shirt, to accidentally sending her boss to the emergency room, does drama follow her? Or is she the drama?

The South African references were everything.

Pick this up if you:
- love funny drama
- want to read a romcom
- want to hear cockpit smut (Iā€™m kidding it was in the passenger section of a private jet)
- love grumpy x sunshine
- love workplace smut and how to get out of it when youā€™re caught
- want to read about the best soap opera ever
- want the tea spilled sis

The irony of rating a book that rates a variety of topics šŸ˜‚ this book rates hot dog contests and Dr Pepper to the Small Pox Vaccine and Sunsets.

While a bit random, I learnt about a variety of topics and the writing was so good I was moved to tears a few times (I, like John Green, am I crier).

It was also nice to hear about the pandemic from the mind of a writer.

I give ā€œThe Anthropocene Reviewedā€ four stars.

(A playful joke on how each chapter ended šŸ˜†)
