“Hello, love… I promised I’d come for you.”

“‘I would follow your darkness, every ugly truth, across the skies and seas.’”

Every time I pick up a book from LJ Andrews, I never want to put it down. The world and characters she creates are so much fun, and The Ever Queen, is no exception.

In The Ever Queen, we pick up right from The Ever King’s devastating cliffhanger and are immediately back into the action. I think I felt as anxious as Erik did returning back to the earth far Folk, but I did immensely enjoy Erik’s interactions with the earth kingdom royals. LJ Andrews writes her characters so well - even with such a large cast of characters in her books, I can still find each individual voice through her writing.

I cackled reading Erik interact with the young royals, his seriousness against their joking banter added just the right amount of levity to a tense storyline.

“‘I’m taking that compliment as your declaration of our undying friendship.’
‘A foolish thing to do.’
‘Far too late, Bloodsinger. It is done.’”

This was a fast paced, action-packed book with the right amount of swoon-worthy, tender (with plenty of

In this stunning sequel to A DAWN OF ONYX, Kate Golden’s A PROMISE OF PERIDOT takes us on an emotional, adventurous journey that will have you gripped from the very beginning.

Still reeling from the devastating battle and revelations at Siren’s Bay, Arwen wants nothing more than to forget about the prophecy and to forget Kane, the King of Onyx who betrayed her and broke her heart. Even as she tries to move on, the impending confrontation with Lazarus remains in the forefront of her mind, and she finds herself needing to find a way reconcile with her new powers, the prophecy, and Kane.

I finished this book in less than two days - it was simply unputdownable. Awren’s emotional and personal journey was really front and center, and I loved how she confronted her previous beliefs and ways of thinking.

Kane and Arwen’s relationship growth throughout this book was wonderful. I liked that Kane wasn’t pushing for an immediate forgiveness from Arwen. He gave her space (as much as he could given the circumstance), and let her feel her feelings. It was another slow burn, but when the spice hit - it hits!

We are left on another devastating cliffhanger. I’m anxious and it slightly made me want to throw up. But it makes me all the more excited to read the third book - A REIGN OF ROSE in October!

The Bridge Kingdom is one of my favorite series, and I was not disappointed with the latest installment, THE TWISTED THRONE.

We follow Ahnna as she leaves Ithicana for Harendell to honor the treaty her mother arranged 15 years ago to marry her to the Crown Prince of Harendell, William. Ahnna believes that the only way she can help Ithicana after she failed to protect them from invasion is to become queen and control the wealth that could flow to Ithicana. Ahnna quickly discovers the dark side of Harendell and finds herself intertwined in a web of politics and drawn to prince she is not betrothed to. . .

I thoroughly enjoyed THE TWISTED THRONE - this was full of political intrigue and I was constantly guessing everyone's motivations. Ahnna's point of view was really interesting, considering her relationships with Aren and Lara. She went through a lot in the first few books, and I think she still has a lot of healing and maturing, but I have a lot of faith in her. She loves her country and people so much. The tension between her and James was so, so good.

The last few chapters were so stressful, and we are left on a devastating cliffhanger. I can't wait for the last (and final!) book!
