This book definitely lived up to the hype!
The story is told in enough detail where I found that I had to remind myself more than once that I wasn't reading a work of fiction. I love how Tara understands her role as a storyteller and how she acknowledges how memories can change and shift and she enables her siblings to sort of weave their memories into the book as well. A lot can be said about her remarkable, inspiring story, but what can't be said enough is the quality of her writing. This isn't the first time we've all read a story with the same basic formula, but it is so rare that it's written with such detail and talent. I find myself altogether heartbroken, furious and yet hopeful.
