I will say I loved it but the plot wasn't quite there for me. I loved the strong and independent heroine and the "it's always been her" pining hero but the extended miscommunication had me begging them to get a grip. The cultural representation was lovely and I felt seen and represented coming from a Hakka family. Big teary eye and I will read more from this series and author. Do check out Courtney Milan's website for food recipes and more cultural context. Her author's note along was 5/5.
The audiobook was excellent with Mary Jane Wells as usual.

This was all vibes. I loved how tortured the hero was and how horny he is for her so much that he consorted with another woman because of his mad lust. MAD lust. Heroine refused to be a doormat but kept coming back after being stumped on time and time again, nothing if not tenacious. Loved it, would reread that epilogue weekly.

The novella did grip me initially with the grumpy insta-love hero and his possessiveness. Also I salivate over heroes using "little one" as an endearment. CM writes pining self restraint heroes so well, I got hooked.
There was a couple hot "just the tip" moments and the heroine remained technically a virgin even though she got pregnant then plot happened which was when it lost me a bit. Some Beauty and the Beast parallels that took me way to long to notice (like at 42%) but overall I enjoyed it like I soak up all Chloe Maine's stories for the gruff daddy. This didn't have daddy kink in it but he's totally a daddy, a protector and a caretaker. As always the bonus epilogue is where it's at so make sure it's loaded and ready to go.
Thanks to Chloe Maine for the review copy and this is my honest review.

Quick insta love read of best friend's dad turned boss turned daddy. They crush on each other hard, she writes Mrs. Daddy in her journal and he finds it. Delicious.

This book was a struggle, by chapter 2 I disliked everyone but then there were endearing moments that kept me going. If I had read this as a book, I probably would've DNFed it but the audiobook was the saving grace. I enjoyed the cultural rep, all the delicious food descriptions and the steam.

Stern caretaking boss daddy who buys you safety gear and secretly makes sure you get home in one piece. Short and steamy and made me chuckle a bunch, the heroine and hero interactions were funny and sweet. I couldn't ask for more in a novella.

There was a post many months back on r/romancebooks complaining about butt stuff in Stephanie Archer's books and they were big mad about it too. I got news for you buddy, you ain't gonna love this book.
I, however, loved it! The hero was incredibly sweet, his caretaking was perfect and he spoiled her rotten. She also caretakes him right back because they're best friends, really nothing more. Honestly just friends that make kissy faces at each other and consume erotic materials together. Although there were years of history and missed opportunities, it didn’t feel angsty because it was just two lovable idiots in love, which made it all the more endearing.
This book was like a warm hug, I love that about SA's writing and I devoured it, even stayed up till 5am reading. It's got the classic Stephanie Archer silly moments, a jealous love coach, hands on toy demonstrations, and of course the butt stuff.
Thanks to Stephanie Archer for the review copy and this is my honest review. The Wingman will be available on 26 September.

Midnight Arrow was the highlight of this book, it felt like a proper stand alone novella whereas the other two felt like an unsatisfying preview of the series.

Heroine was a bit woe is me and so tortured that even getting 5 dickings she was still mopey. I did enjoy this, fast acting heat, 5 different variety of man and a good forest chase primal play.
