This one really touched me. I loved how Casper showed his love for his boss in so many ways. Even in this short story, both of their personalities came through so clear. I loved the resolution after Mr. Oblivious finally got a clue!

I don't think there could be two more contentious people in the UK than Harry and Toby. They come by that from being on opposite political sides. Harry is the leader of the Conservative Party, vying to become the Prime Minister in the upcoming election. Toby was the former Chief of Staff to the Labor Party Prime Minister and current Labor Party MP. Their distaste for each other was legendary.
Both of them are scheduled to attend a climate conference in Norway, and both of them missed their scheduled flight. For expedient purposes, they take a private plane instead. They are forced to work together after surviving a plane crash and a kidnapping attempt. It puts them on a race to evade the kidnappers/killers and on a mission to survive out in the forest wildness. This was so well done. I was on the edge of my seat many times during the story, wondering how they would survive and how they would get rescued.
Through the course of survival, they realized they needed to cooperate and work together. A bond was formed, and through that slow process, the two of them continued to argue and push each other. However, I loved how their arguing turned into banter during their course of survival, and eventually turned into foreplay for them. I loved how they slowly opened up to each other, showing their true selves, and how that set them on the path for falling in love with each other.
What I really appreciated that the story doesn't end shortly after their return, but delves into their struggles acclimating back into society and their pain when they both feel the need to give each other up for political purposes.
Absolutely loved the ending and how it was resolved for them to be together and the wonderful epilogue, detailing their lives in the future, including their famous political banter.
I'm really looking forward to seeing Nicholas's story in The Unlikely Spare. There is still an unresolved mystery behind the threat to the British Monarchy and UK democracy.

I'm on a Jax Calder reading binge, and I have to say with each and every book of hers, I'm more committed to continuing with that binge.
This book did not disappoint. I loved Callum and the kindness of his heart. His quirk for wanting to learn facts for facts' sake was so perfect for the role thrusted on him. It allowed him to relate to so many people and them to him.
The fact that his biggest fan was the Prime Minister made this such a great book. I loved how Oliver, pretty early on, realized that Callum needed a friend and became that for him. I loved watching their relationship turn from friendship into lovers, despite the roadblocks that were ahead of them.
This is just another Jax Calder series I'm addicted to. The Unlikely Pair is next up in the queue. Can't wait to read Toby and Harry's story.
