Really sweet, I like how the second half tackles racism and class solidarity.

I felt like there wasn't much emotion to it, and the quality wasn't there either - I think the book could have used an editor and team to help the quality of the images to be equivalent to other picture books. Sweet message, just falls flat though.

I feel so devastated by the ending. I can't believe the next one isn't coming out until 2026 - two years from now and six after the first book was published. I don't want to forget about this book, I hope I don't. If you read this and liked it, Read Worm by Wildbow (it's a web serial). Or another similar book, though not as good imo is Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson.

I had forgotten this was a lgbt historical romance when I first started reading it, so I was SO EXCITED when it started to get REALLY GOOD when the two main characters met - very Elphaba and Glenda.

The romance comes out of nowhere, the plot is not paced well, and the writing, while it has little bits of it that is lyrical and lovely, most of it just is WEIRD/off-putting or makes no sense.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 0%.
I need to read the first book, I don't like jumping into this in the middle of the series
