Audrey Miller is an Instagram sensation. Every day her million followers click onto her feed to see her latest post.  But when she moves from New York  to Washington D.C. to take on her dream job at the Smithsonian, she suddenly and unknowingly falls right into the hands of someone very dangerous.  He has been tracking Audrey's every post since she first started out, and now he's no longer content to follow from a distance.  Audrey's growing sense of unease slowly morphs into fear as she realizes she's not just being paranoid- someone really is stalking her, watching her, making one move and then another. When will the next threat come?  What will he do next?  One thing is certain:  to make her his, he will follow her to the ends of this earth...and nothing is out of bounds.⁣

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC!  As an Instagrammer myself, I read this book with a little trepidation (eek!) and a lot of wicked delight. Told in multiple perspectives, it often felt like a cat and mouse game, which worked splendidly with this storyline. I did feel it was a bit predictable and that the ending was a little too "Lifetime movie dramatic", but all in all this was a fun ⭐⭐⭐

I recently received an ARC for one of my most anticipated 2020 thriller reads (thank you, NetGalley! ❤) -  Little Secrets, by Jennifer Hillier, author of Jar of Hearts.  In this book, we follow Marin whose life is unraveling. She used to have it all - a happy marriage to her college sweetheart, an adorable son, and a successful career. But in a matter of 8 minutes, her world came crashing down when her son was abducted in broad daylight. Just over a year later, Marin struggles every single day just to put one foot in front of the other and carry on with a life without her son.  She has hired a private investigator, and when this P.I. accidentally discovers Marin's husband is having an affair with a much younger woman, Marin suddenly receives the jolt she needs. She's lost her son;  she's not about to lose her husband also.  On her road to fix this situation, though, she uncovers more truths that will rock her world.⁣⁣

This book grabbed me from the beginning and didn't let go. The pacing was just right, and it made it super hard to put the book down. And while I did figure  out the whodunnit pretty early on, the twists and turns this story took kept me riveted.  This was a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ read for me and one I predict this will be one of 2020's hot thriller reads. ⁣⁣

Every once in a while, a book comes along that ever so slowly sneaks its way into your heart.  I had seen Plainsong praised over and again by various lit lovers, and in a quest to read more books I've owned for a while, I finally picked it up. I won't lie... it took me a good bit to get into this book, but eventually that slow burn led me to a quiet depth and characters I cared profoundly for.  Plainsong takes place in a small town in Colorado, and it deals with such issues as the breakup of a family, a teen facing an unplanned pregnancy, and loss and redemption. It's a book that will both break your heart and restore your faith in humanity at the same time. I especially fell in love with the McPheron brothers...in fact, I haven't had such a soft spot for a character since I read Anne of Green Gables and fell in love with Matthew Cuthbert. If you need a dose of quiet and depth in this busy world or you need your faith in humanity restored, you might just love this book as well.⁣ ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you asked me a couple months ago what 2020 book releases I was most excited about, You Are Not Alone would definitely have been in the top 5.  From the authors of The Wife Between Us and An Anonymous Girl comes a new thriller set to be released on March 3rd.  To say I was stoked to receive an ARC from Netgalley is an understatement. ⁣

This is one of those books that the less you know going in, the better; therefore, I'm not going to give a plot summary. I will, however, say that this book is the very definition of a psychological thriller. From the very first page, I was hooked.  My sense of dread and doom for what was to come increased with every turn of the page.  I found myself berating the main character aloud more than once, much to the humor of my family and, ahem, a few people in a quiet restaurant.

This book was actually published a few years ago, and despite being one of my favorite genres, it wasn't even on my radar until I started seeing it all over bookstagram a couple weeks ago.  Everyone raved about that shocking ending, so I immediately had to pick it up...hey, I'm not one to miss out!
