Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve

I actually had a great time with this book, sometimes the narrative telling didn't feel as explored enough and key events were skipped over, and wow there was a lot of death!! RIP DOG!!! I didn't really feel that invested in the characters they were all a bit stiff. However I really liked the unique idea behind the world. I loved the not typical portartion of a male character in ya through Tom as well and it was a nice fresh take on relationships.

I'm still processing this book but honestly i really enjoyed it. I loved Freya as a character she had a really nice development and I loved all the characters in Anchorage. I found Tom much harder to read in this one I don't know If it's because I prefer him with Hester but he just seemed to shallow and a bit different. I loved Hester even more her emotions were portrayed really well. I think the green storm though cliche were a nice addition and Shanya ( if that's her name sorry) was such a amazingly deep character I loved her. And finally caul and the lost boys were so interesting I loved them and the element they added.

I loved the addition of Wren as a character she quite literally combined the parts of Tom and Hester that I like together. And I loved her storyline with Theo on Brighton it was nice though not anything amazing in terms of love stories. Something about the niceness of the slaves lives bothered me because such a serious issue I believe needs more negativity in it. What happened to Uncle actually are me really sad but I did love the whole brainwashing storyline, especially Cauls part. I'm sorry but Hester just seemed such a strange character I hated her selfishness and she would never of left Tom and her own child ugh that made me so mad. I loved Pennyroyal playing a part again and Dr Zero had a nice role in the story.
