Great world building, but a lot left to be desired, plot wise.

I believe that most novelizations are usually hit or miss, but this one was a big hit with me. It's definitely one of the better ones I've read, and at times, certain parts were better than their movie counterpart. Getting to see and understand many of the characters and their backstories - even random ones who amounted to nothing - made me care for them a lot more. The way that Michael Myers is described here is absolutely brilliant. Seeing parts of the movie through the POV of The Shape, and getting a bit of his thought process, was a nice touch as well. I also appreciate that the book furthers my theory from the movie involving his mask (no spoiling here.) If I had to nitpick, I'd say that the book really hurries along once you're past the halfway point after spending a lot of time detailing the early parts of the story. Still, this was a great novelization of a great movie.

Me and my lady read all of Demon Slayer in 2021, and we were both equally excited when this side story was announced. It is awesome. Is it the best arc in Demon Slayer? No. Is it still a fun ride? Absolutely. And I sincerely hope that there are more side stories set within the Demon Slayer universe.
