I was glad to get to peek in on some of my favourite people again in this book!

We get to watch Pearl, now in her 20s, finally getting her year in Paris, having a series of relationships (both friendly and romantic), each of which helps her learn things about herself and the world around her.

Side note: If you love Paris, pretty sure you will love this book. The author's love for the city definitely shines through the whole story.

This held my interest and had some twists I didn't see coming. As with the other books in this series, I know basically nothing about this era and that didn't hinder my ability to follow the story.

Don't like the audiobook narrator. Might have to just try this one as a physical book.

If I wanted a book about 1930s fashion, I have a whole shelf of fashion history books I could turn to. I do not need a play-by-play of a  character's many outfit changes. It enhances nothing about the story.

I also don't need to know that the fireplace is to the left of the couch or the terrace is north of something else or that you turn east to go up a hill.

The characters are all idiots. You don't REALLY expect me to believe that a married upper-class woman of the 1930s is going to travel publicly with a former fiancĂ© and not a) try to make it look unintentional and b) have a cover story prepared. You ARE going to run into people you know.

I could write better books than this. Oh wait, I have.
