 I honestly have too much to say about this book lol

please for the love of god do not go into the woods alone with your friend to hike/camp if none of you know anything about survival or basic camping things.

This easily could have been 100 pages shorter and labeled as a horror short story, edited it a bit and it would have probably been a good book!

Let's talk about these characters... Neena and Josie are apparently "best friends" when honestly this felt like they hated each other for the whole book minus the like 20 pages at the end. Josie really not a good person, sure she's been through a lot and its okay to feel those emotions but that doesnt excuse her to be a bad person.
there is absolutely no way Josie wouldnt have bled out my having her bone pierce her leg and have her ENTIRE hand blasted off by a shot gun. There was just so much unrealistic stuff happening.

I could honestly rant about this book for hours but I'm gonna stop myself. 

 think Sherlock Holmes but *paranormal*
It's a quick and fun read! I enjoyed the writing and look forward to reading the rest of the series! 

 I went into this with the lowest expectations in the world. Sure it's outdated, there's some offensive words thrown in here, and abusive relationships, bullying and literally everything that would have gone under the radar 13 years ago.

Anna is cringy and annoying but I mean I was just that cringe as her at that age

idk I had fun reading it! 

 I mean it was a good book, however it didnt live up to the hype it had in my opinion.

is it possible to say that a book felt too descriptive? cause thats what I was feeling.

the characters were alright but the romance that was thrown in didnt exactly feel like it belonged in the story per say. 

 *edit: after reading The Woods Are Always Watching I'm moving this to a 3 star cause this was so much better than that*

This started out as a 4 stars but then it went south real fast lol

I just can't comprehend the thought process that went into this. it felt like 3 different slasher/thriller concept smushed together to create this jumbled book.

also that ending??? like I understand this is fiction, but there is absolutely no way any of that would have worked out the way it did. 

 The OG Mary Poppins was a gaslighting queen 😂 

 I think it's a me problem that I didnt like this tbh

it rambled a lot, the plot itself was a little confusing

I will however watch the show at some point since I do think I would enjoy it more as a visual!

this was really good! I don't want to say too much about it since I'm scared of accidently spoiling smt lol

just make sure to check triggers before reading!!
