I can see how Eden could not be everybody's thing: it gets slow at times, it's a bit... technical, I suppose, but that's not the best way to put it. It isn't exactly action-packed. But I loved it. I loved the attention to the details of the planet, its inhabitants and its peculiarities. The more exciting scenes were few but truly had me holding my breath. The last three or so chapters I simply inhaled - I couldn't put the book down.

If you're looking for fast, flashy scifi - this isn't the right book for you (and it's fine!). But if you want something reflective, wonderfully imaginative, and with a solid dose of nerdiness - give Eden a try.
