Good book 👍🏻. I liked the latter half the best - about the pressure to become mothers, and small ways of advocating for yourself.

Some really strong poems at the beginning of this collection especially. A number of poems still fell flat for me. A nice book to have on hand for a relatively easy read when I needed it though!

I always learn something from Emily Nagoski! This book had lots of repeat from Come As You Are though, and the whole like last quarter of the book was about women being patient with men & while I'm empathetic to the insidious ways toxic maxulinity haunts people socialized as men I just wasnt really here for that whole bit.

I BLEW through this! It's great. Very heavy and the ending was a lot for me. I actually think this book could be longer (and I never say that I always want things to be shorter).

I'm happy to have read this book, and I learned a bit from it, but I didn't find it a really good book tbh. Very dense, and I feel like the first 100 pages could have been cut completely...

Crooked Teeth: A Queer Syrian Refugee Memoir by Danny Ramadan

Sneaking in another 5star read this year! I really appreciated how Danny Ramadan refused to delve into the details of painful experiences and instead interrogates why he should/why readers would want that. It was my memoir year this year and this one was unlike all the others I read this year.
