What a fun different twist that I haven't read before of a cozy mystery. This one is very millennial in its focus and ideal client and caters to those who want to have an "Insta Worthy" experience. Full of a vibrant and quirky cast of characters, I was speeding through to find out "who dun it"!
Thanks to Crooked Lane Books and Dreamscape Media for the gifted book. I received a complimentary copy of this books but was not required to leave reviews. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The word pictures painted in this book will transport you to pass out Halloween candy, walk in an extravagant art instillation, get stuck in an elevator, and much more. Every detail is so vivid, but not overplayed. The chemistry between Kaitlyn and Micah is so real and their competitive nature was very relatable. I loved the multifaceted nature of their interactions. From witty banter to vulnerable discussions, their healthy and boundaried communication was fantastic.
Spanning from September through December and encompassing Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's, you will find all the sweet holiday goodness you desire here.

Eeeeeeeh! I wanted to squeal like a schoolgirl on a plane reading this one. It is so cute! And although there is a great romance here, this is also more about identity, personal growth, and living out your purpose. The funny conversations with characters learning English peppered throughout we're just the sprinkles on top of a perfectly iced cupcake. This book was a delight.

If Courtney Walsh is writing it, I am going to read it. And this book just adds to my defense of why. It is like a Hallmark movie, but with depth and chemistry.
Both main characters have experienced their life plans taking big detours from what they dreamed, and together they realize that life is what you make of your failures and how you use them to inform how you move forward. I loved the undercurrent of hope found in this story paired with the really sweet romance.

James Ponti does it again! A fast paced and smart adventure led by some middle grade kids accompanied by responsible adults. I love that these kids had help from an adult every step of the way!
Atmosphere and chemistry are two things Ponti nails. I felt the humid sweaty surroundings of South Florida and the comradery of this middle school group and their elderly enabler. Plus, the lessons they learn throughout about journalism and writing a complete story will be great knowledge for middle grade readers to ingest.
We are set up so perfectly for the next book and I cannot wait to see what comes next for this gang!
