This was an impressive metaphor for women’s mental health at that time and was done very well in such a limited number of pages. I can see why it’s a classic but definitely wanted more from it

A great debut book, ideal if you want something eerie that’s easy to read in one or 2 sittings. I felt the ending left me a bit unsatisfied but I generally really enjoyed it and am excited to read other books by this author in the future!

I don’t feel comfortable rating this one. Jaycee is such a brave woman who sadly had to endure so much. This memoir is written in such an authentic and honest way that it really transports you into the mind of her younger self. The way Jaycee adapted to her new normal and maintained such a positive outlook throughout her captivity is nothing short of commendable.

A well crafted, brilliantly written thriller with chilling characters! I went in to this blindly and I’m so glad I’d missed any spoilers before going in to it. I’ll definitely be reading more of Gillian Flynn’s work!

The idea of this was so creative and unique I expected a lot to be done with it but this is definitely a no plot just vibes kinda book with relatively simple writing. It did make for a well needed light hearted read though!

A really unique and unusual memoir / overview of literature on the representation of agoraphobia.
