It's good to hear a perspective about policing from someone who has been on the streets as one but hasn't became jaded by the job. This is my first book by the author and I'm inspired to read others by her.

I did not see the twist coming but it was not a surprise. The story was interesting but I had no investment in the characters or their outcomes. I can see this book being adapted to film and being very popular.

This story addresses a gap that can occur between a U.S. born daighter and their immigrant mother when it comes to the tradition of a cotillion.  It triggered a lot of feelings for me. My mom tried to pressure me into having one. I like how the book highlights so many issues that can be part  of a teenage girl experience.
