Did not finish book. Stopped at 40%.
Nothing happened, it had no business being this long. It had no plot, only smut. I’m not a fan of Nesta, can’t get over how she teated Feyre. Might try to finish some day, but there are so many other books I want to read. DNFed after over a year.

I feel like it kind of had potential, I like the concept of the blood forests, (and vampires, however I prefer using that kind of terminology). I like the visuals of the maiden all in white, her face covered. However this book did not need to be this long and slow, it could definitely have been like 300-400 pages and I would have enjoyed it much more. It kind of felt like I was reading a first draft where the author hasn’t shortened the word count yet. Everything felt very dragged out.

I feel like Poppy was kind of dumb sometimes. The plot twist was so obvious, and I already knew that Hawke was The Dark One at first sight. Poppy literally described his inhuman speeds and fangs. It felt like reading twilight but without Bella figuring out that Edward is a vampire. An let’s be real, if Bella could do that then it says a whole lot…

I was also very weirded out by Hawke getting aroused by Poppy being in pain and locked up… Yuck.
