The art was absolutely stunning, but the story was a bit incoherent. A lot of cameos, but the one that the book mentions (Constantine) was overall underutilized.

I know why it's an important book, but it was very long and the author talking directly to the reader in various parts take me out of the story she is telling.

100 years of a town being formed, rising to its peak, then dying out. Oh and a quirky family that just can't stop doing an incest, cheating on each other, and refuses to give sons unique names.

2/5 The family was toxic and the town and the house are the best characters.
