It was interesting reading this authors first book. I'm a fan of her Sci-fi books in particular and this one shows the beginning of her prolific writing career!

This was such a fun read! I had a great time with these characters and loved the Manchester setting.

Such a wonderful cosy low stakes high fantasy! This was exactly what I needed to read, and I can't wait to pick up the sequel.

Kirsty Logan just knows how to write dark lyrical stories. This is not your typical witchy book.  It's about womanhood and what it means to be on the outside of society, hated and desired in equal measure. This is how the tales of witches began, with women just wanting to live freely and as themselves.

Kirsty Logan is brilliant at bringing forth the images of the world and really placing the reader and the characters in the historical setting. This was a brilliantly told story.
