This sort of had the same satirical energy as The Boys on Prime (can't speak on the comic). I really enjoyed the characters. Some of them felt really flat at the beginning, but by the end it all comes together really nicely. Love love the happy queer endings too. Very meta

I had a bit of a weird time with this book. I struggled to get into it at first, there's a lot of characters. It all comes together really nicely towards the end and I thought it was quite a complex, nuisanced and original mystery that the characters got to solve in this book. Unfortunately I think the nuisance and the emotions of the protagonists were written a bit too well, because I really struggled to keep going with the story. I just found it too dark, too brutal, too sad. Had to take many breaks to finish it. It just wasn't nearly as light as the rest in the same genre. Lisa Jewel suffers from her own success.

Just the book I needed right now. Very fun, light read. Loved the twist on backwards groundhog day and I like how it was all resolved at the end. Did kind of guess the reveal 70% through but didn't detract from the fun

So so good! So wise, so comforting. Would expect nothing less from Leena to be fair. The audiobook was like the longest youtube video I didn't know I needed

So much weirder than I thought it would be in a wonderful way. We should start using humbug again

Did not finish book. Stopped at 50%.
Tbh I wasn't enjoying it when I ran out of Spotify minutes. So the idea of using more of them instead of reading a book I actually want to read sounds a bit ludicrous. Tried it

Very sweet, affirming read. Found this a little bit surface level for where I'm at with the neurodivergen reading, didn't pick up anything new. But definitely a good intro book if you're just starting to look into it

Made me very emotional. Loved Dante and his whole family dynamic. Dealt with some really mature themes through a teenage perspective and did them real justice.

This was really informative. Lots of things I definitely want to keep researching, but Hannah gives a lot of information that's very useful on things that seem counterintuitive. I thought especially her case for "natural doesn't always equal environmentally friendly" very poignant. We do live in modern "unnatural" times and often that calls for unnatural solutions and it's good that we make peace with trusting the data rather than our gut feeling on things.

The closing message I think was incredibly important (and soke of the reviews here seem to have missed completely), everybody doing their best to push for better policy and environmental action is on the same team and we can't do with forgetting it and getting lost in the small differences.

I've read a few books from H.G. Wells before and this has so far been my least favourite. I enjoyed book 2 better and I thought his description of the Martians was great. I did find the first part was very slow. The detail added to the realism of the situations which was cool, but really slows down any kind of "action" or story. Just felt like the first half lasted forever comparatively. Still, an interesting read.
