The Speed of Dark by Elizabeth Moon
3.0
The ending really ruins this for me. I also don't really consider this to be a true "sci-fi" novel. The science is pretty secondary, even tertiary to the story - the main draw of the novel is the characters. The author did a great job with creating the character of Lou, I really loved him! But the ending is really rushed and doesn't fit with message that I felt the rest of the book was trying to get across.
Ace by Angela Chen
Not sure how to rate this, as I think as a concept this book is super important, but I didn't love the way it was laid out. I would have liked more focus on each individual interviewed rather than constantly bringing their experiences in at random times, often across several chapters. Definitely a book for Allos which is obviously not a bad thing, but it retreads a lot of basics.

A quick read for me. Extremely fast paced, but some plots go nowhere particularly the high school student workshop. would have liked more development on that one!
The ending fell kinda flat for me, and I got annoyed with the constant is she dead or not plot line honestly I kinda wanted the story to go all in and actually throw in some real ghostly guilt vibes in the final third instead of it just being the assistant.
While I normally struggle with main characters who are so hate-able, June wasn’t too insufferable. Overall an enjoyable quick read!

All Clear by Connie Willis

I so wish Blackout/All Clear could have been edited into a singular book. Excellent story but much too long!
Blackout by Connie Willis
4.0
Hard to review thoroughly since it really is as if Blackout/All Clear were one book that was sliced in two with no changes made to attempt concluding the first book. But I will say that I enjoyed it very much, though it could have used some cuts. and the repetitive fake outs of trying to determine if they altered history or not became annoying near the end
Artemis by Andy Weir
3.0
Weir cannot write women. Definitely the weakest of his novels and my least favourite. The concept was good and the plot kept me interested but the mc was a flop.
