3.5 Stars! I found the first half of the story to be super compelling. However, as I began to guess the "twist" (which turned out to be correct) the intensity of my interest dwindled a bit. I still had a super fun time reading this, though! Would recommend if you're looking for a book that's a little bit twisted, but not too much.

Wow, what a FANTASTIC, and HORRIFYING story.

This book is a constant rush of adrenaline. I was rooting for Beauregard with a fierce intensity. Criminal gone straight is forced to make a u-turn when finances get tight. A powerful story that weaves together several hard hitting themes seamlessly, this is one of my top reads for this year...wow.

A masterpiece. Nearing the end of this book while tensions and stakes were high, I found myself crying with emotions beyond simple sorrow. I cried with anticipation, knee bouncing up and in down in a mad fervor. Unraveled denouements lashed tears from my eyes like cracks of a whip. I felt so deeply for each and every character in these pages. I will continue to agonize over those who were lost, while my affections for those who are left shall bloom everlasting. I cannot wait to continue on reading more from Brandon Sanderson.
