 Some really huge themes
are addressed almost teasingly throughout the book and I wished they’d been explored in greater depth. But the writing is beautiful and I found myself enjoying the profundity in her observations, even if they were mere snippets.

If only the final two instalments of this three-part novel sparkled with the intensity of the first. It was gripping and rich in detail, necessarily confronting and unsettling. The second and third parts fell a little flat for me.

I just can’t help it… I love books about absolutely horrible rich white people having petty problems and acting like entitled fools.

It’s a brilliant concept, but the result is huge chunks of exposition and lists of numbers and calculations that grow tedious after the first page.
Plus, it’s not like I was expecting this to pass the Bechdel test, but all of the (very few) female characters are so one-dimensional it’s kind of laughable.
