The ending will leave you gobsmacked. I couldn’t put it down and really thought I had it figured out until… I didn’t.

Donlea is excellent at twists and turns and this is no exception. The ending punched me in the gut. It was angering but I do love a good surprise.

As a Donlea fan, this one was a bit disappointing. I enjoyed the storyline but the ending was very unfulfilling and seemed to come out of left field. It was definitely a twist but I it didn’t make sense.

Stillhouse Lake gets better every time I read it. The entire book keeps me on edge and it’s almost impossible to stop reading. Gwen is a true badass that fights for her and her children’s lives with every shred of her being. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series - her character is one of my top favorites in all the thrillers I’ve read.

I love a good thriller/mystery but this one just wasn’t it. Most of the book made me really uncomfortable to be honest. I finished it only because I needed to know who the killer was. Almost all of the characters were either unlikable or pointless. They all needed more development. The entire Cody storyline was just weird and gave nothing to the plot.

Also, after reading that one of the authors was/is an English professor at a college who has been supposedly accused of inappropriate behavior… it just makes me feel ick.

Don’t bother reading this Novella. The first 75% of the book has an okay build up but the ending is AWFUL and unrealistic. It comes out of left field and feels like the it should be the ending to a different book. The main character is very unlikable and purposely emotionless… with no real reason to back up his behavior. His assistant is a pointless add on character. I could honestly go on and on about everything I dislike about this book.
