I LOVE YOU AND YOUR WORK, Mr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson.
I'm still mad for the Pluto thing tho, even though i know you weren't the only contributer to that decision.
But this was so funny, educational and inspirational as well — all that i needed.

i LOVE the koubek brothers, even tho they are both jerks. both in their each special ways! i especially cannot hate them for having complicated relationship with one another — as that's where others usually talk about the dislike of one of the brothers, as far as i saw — because i myself have siblings and it wasn't always so easy — that's where i am reading and am like 'wow thank to GOD this is not us anymore.' it makes you appreciate that your life is not as miserable as you previously thought so.

NOW, i would appreciate if the book would be more focused on the grief and alienation of the melancholy that lingers in you when you lose someone close to you. i would truly need that right now, for personal reasons.

EVEN THOUGH, my rating seems low for how much i babbled about it, it simply is because the last 7 chapters weren't easy to bite through (either the fault is on my side or on the writing style or it's actually both me for two different reasons), so i skim read it (which i do rarely), and i skim read it quickly enough to not even annotate it.
with that in mind, i might come back to those last seven chapters one day — i want to — and will properly annotate the last chapters.

i still love it. like a lot. a lot lot.

honestly, i don't think i should be ranking this, because this is way more important than some rating system — but besides that, this was excellent as a look into the Civil War and especially the point of view of a black person, a black woman, in those times.
Big respect and awe towards Susie King Taylor, because she was there through the trenches and yet she was able to make history as the first black army nurse and the only black woman to publish a memoir of her Civil War experiences. wow.

Extracts From: The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir

Simone is definitely the first set of bricks to today's feminism or at least, the feminism 101 — just like the barbie movie is the modern version of 101 lessons.
So, mostly, i did enjoy this and i loved her points and thoughts she was pouring onto me.
Until i learned a little bit about miss Simone and her life.
That just ultimately ruined the experience of reading her work, while actively trying to separate her as a person and her words that have some truth to it, in the feminist circles.
So, while this extract of a book was quite enjoyable and full of 'real.' moments, the experience of reading this was quite disappointing.
