Girl, I don't care. Before I expand on my perspective, I'll begin by saying I really don't like stories within stories. Maybe in this lifetime was not 2 stories in one perse, but it was. There's an alternate reality, which seemed to exist just to prove the love between Leyland and Clementine could withstand time and space. However, I didn't know enough about either character to be invested in their love. Was this book poorly written? Absolutely not. Was there a beginning, middle, and end? Absolutely. There were also 5 epilogues spanning 7 years and glimpses into the lives of characters irrelevant to this story. I know those were likely breadcrumbs for future or existing books, but girl, I don't care. The concept of the story was great, but I thoroughly disliked the execution.

I was nervous because the reviews were telling me I may be replacing my boo, LeQuay, with Asif. Although I enjoy him, my man is safe in his position.
Asif is one of the more dynamic brothers. He has a lot of issues that he hasn't quite dealt with, which explains his attraction to Stazi. I loved his take charge, no prisoners mindset. I think what I most enjoy is Shvonne trolling people by making certain scenes extra unrealistic.
Stazi is deserving of the love she finds and the sisterhood she discovers. I can't wait to see how this family grows.

I am happy to see Capri in a healthier and happier space. Her love story was inspiring and adventurous because she learned to love herself and her man. This final book to her story gave me all the feels, but it's still f*ck Capella.

Anything I say is a spoiler at this point...However, why are you reading reviews for book 3 if you haven't read the ones before this? Sounds like you want to be spoiled, and I got you. This is more a list of thoughts than a review:
1. Capella does not exist to me because no one can convince me this is a brand new development.
2. Aimee needs to get in touch with her inner Diva.
3. Coreleon... I respect it
4. Capri, I am so happy you're finally in your "I'm a wife" era.
5. The way Quameer and Quasim pull up for their women, Lord, I see what you do for the fictional folk...send that this way.
6. They really don't know how much they don't deserve Cappadonna, and he'll never let them know.

...so are the days of Jahquel J messing with me. Why are these cliff hangers? See, I knew I had sense when I waited because I'm losing it already. I love Capri and Quameer having it together, and yay for love, but if the rest of these fools don't gather their lives together? Tuh.

The story is picking up. This does not mean it was ever dragging. I am enjoying seeing the continued growth in Capri and Quameer. Corleone is a character, and I'm going to enjoy getting to know him. I am both concerned and intrigued by Aimee's life decisions lately. On one hand, I understand, and on the other, I want to shake her and scream. "Girl, wake up!". Watching the healing of the Delgato family is the biggest highlight of this book. I can't wait to see what else is in store.

Hoonneeeeyyy, one thing about Jahquel J, she's going to leave you with a soap opera-like cliffhanger. I love watching the love develop between Quameer and Capri. Each of them are learning to trust themselves as individuals while opening up to each other more. My favorite part is the drama playing out in their background and them actively ignoring it. I can't wait to read what happens next.

This was supposed to just be a quick palette cleanser. I seldom read synopsis, so I had no way of knowing I was completely incorrect. Though only a 14 year old boy, Aiden and I had a lot in common. Point of correction, Aidan and me, at 14, had a lot in common. We were equally uncertain, self-conscious, and a tad pretentious with a flare for melodrama. I love the themes of self-acceptance of friendship because I know both go hand in hand with a successful adolescence. I found myself giggling at silly comebacks, and I'm almost certain his school is the same school Daria went to. Anyway, the book is great, the message is fantastic, and the humor is top tier.

Ma'am, why do you play so much? Are we a joke to you? Does our pain make you giggle? What was the reason? This is why I waited til the books were complete because I was not going to be played with in this manner.

This was a cute and fun read. AshleyNicole never fails to make me chuck while reading her books. We waited so patiently for Taylor's story, and it was everything we expected and more. There are a couple of heavier moments in the story, and I think they were handled well, but a part of me felt the latter half of the story was slightly rushed. Overall, this was a great read, and I had a fun time getting reacquainted with the Mason family.
