I was completely unable to put this down. The concept - knowing the murderer but not the victim - was refreshing and kept me guessing the whole book!

Really enjoyed this, despite some pacing issues. The passage of time was a bit unclear and sometimes it seemed the characters lacked motivations. I'm very invested in the outcome of the plot though, and am looking forward to picking up the second book!

This was exquisitely dark and mysterious. A rich, gothic setting, ancient gods, and yearning romance all blend together for a wonderful story that will draw readers in right from the start.

If you like pirates and spice and a hint of rebellion, this is a great romance read. Tons of fun, lovable characters, and plenty of heat

Olivie Blake continues to be a master of characters and prose. No notes, just pure delight in the twists and turns of this gambling/heist/romp of a story

This feels like the perfect intersection of Klune’s writing in The House in the Cerulean Sea and the Green Creek series. As Klune says in the author note, The Bones Beneath My Skin is weird, but in the best way, filled with heart and found family and hope.
