The second I saw this cover, I downloaded the book and didn’t look back. Zero regrets! This was a really good MC romance that kept my interest throughout. There’s not a ton of plot, but the character growth and spice hits the spot. Some of the dialogue seemed a bit awkward to me, but not enough that I didn’t enjoy the book as a whole.
When we meet Brinley, she’s your typical repressed people pleaser just floating through the world while things happen to her and around her. She’s a great example of how you can be a good person, but still be a biased person despite your good intent. I loved watching her unlearn certain behaviors throughout the book. Also - I liveeeee for when the FMC trains to become a force of nature and to protect herself.
Gabriel is one of my favorite kinds of MMC. Morally grey(ish), hates everyone except his chosen family, bossy asf, obsessed to all hell, and unashamed. I got nervous when I realized he was ex-military (because ACAB), but I appreciated that the author didn’t glorify his “service” and that he gives a big ole eff you to the government.
This book is also filled with tons of spicy goodness, which I happen to love. (If you haven’t noticed) Gabriel gets Brin to really embrace her desires and go buck wild! I love to see it.

This book is criminally underrated. I’m so excited that I found it (and subsequently devoured it).
This is such a beautiful story that manages to be overwhelming romantic with enough darkness to balance it out. The portrayal of BDSM and Ivy and Silas D/s dynamic is perfectly executed. (& I’m such a slüt for the aftercare)
The dirty talk made me melt. It’s filled with genuinely satisfying praise & well timed dêgrädation. You can almost taste the tension between these too. It’s freaking delicious.
With all of that, you’d assume the plot would suffer but you’d be wrong. It kept my interest the whole time and was filled with character growth and emotion. Ivy is such a badass and Silas is swoon worthy.
In summary, run to this book as fast as you can.

Is it really a new year without diving into a steamy forbidden novella?
I’ve never read a coach/athlete romance before and this was super cute! It enjoyed that the story was still very light, despite its forbidden nature. And obviously the spice was tasty asf between these two. I expect no less from this author 😏

Let’s take a high level trip down memory lane to set the scene.
After A Dance Macabre, I was counting down the days until I could dive into the city of Pravitia again. I didn’t think I would ever get enough. I needed to know everything about Gemini ASAP.
Fast forward a bit and I find out that Gemini is going to Spike coded. Naturally, I start foaming at the mouth.
Fast forward AGAIN && Naomi releases character art. By this point, I know I’m done for and in love with yet another set of fictional characters.
But THENNNN. THENNNNN Naomi blesses their pätrèon with a sneak peak of a certain sketch and the scream that I scrumpt were heard across the lands.
Okay.. you following me so far? (Wow, I just love you for coming on this journey with me.)
Ok okok.. All that rambling to make sure you know that my expectations were set VERY high for this book. And to no one’s shock or surprise, Naomi delivered. I read this book front to back without stopping for air.
Gemini and Veil are so dang captivating. I ate up every detail about them. I’m such a sucker for all things Gemini. Don’t get me wrong, he is so fully unhinged, but I still found myself swooning for him every step of the way. Despite being the servant of trickery, he was always so genuine to his true self. Veil on the other hand had to work so hard to figure out who her true self was. I adored watching her come into and embrace her power and give into her desires. Their chemistry was a journey filled with hot as sin tension and y’all already KNOW that Naomi throws down in the side department.
Everything about this book delivered.

I get so excited when I see a new book from Lillian Lark. It’s always an instant read for me. She writes some delectable monster spice with the perfect amount of plot to go along with it.
Stella, Remy, and Ben make my poly heart happy! I love that Remy and Ben’s story is perfectly balanced with their love for Stella and none of the relationships overshadow the other.
If you’re new to this world, I recommend reading every single story but only because they’re so good. I guess this could technically be read as a standalone, but at the very least recommend reading “Hoarded by the Dragon” first.
