To preface, I like books/stories where the writing is captivating, and/or the story is impactful or amusing in some way. Of course, that is subjective.

I liked it overall, but didn’t find it the story really spoke to me personally. If you grew up with it, it might be a nostalgic beautiful story. If you struggle or have struggled with some of the things Scrooge struggled with, it might be thought-provoking in that sense. The message was beautiful, and it showed that people can change rather quickly with the right motivation. Which presents an accurate model for behavioral modification: work through past, address present, plan for a different future. Hats off to Dickens for that, way ahead of his time. Although I enjoyed that bit of psychological insight, it wasn’t very enlightening to me. However, I might’ve missed some things because I was listening to the audio book while occupied.

The story was well paced, language was beautiful though I wasn’t necessarily enamored with it. Lastly, like others have said it can put you in a Christmas spirit which is lovely.
