So You've Been Publicly Shamed by Jon Ronson

In a recent nonfiction narrative workshop I took earlier today, Ronson said he wanted his nonfiction to read like novels, like beach reads or page turners. He is really good at that, as I like to read and reread his work - particularly listen to his audiobook narrations every now and then. In preparation for said workshop, I relistened to Shamed. In the relistening, I felt a bit more kinder to the shamed people also considering that, in between the first reading/listening and now, I have been publicly shamed in my direct community for daring to be concerned about misconducts from other people with more social capital. Should be read by anyone, particularly those in upper echelons of power, to grow a heart, think twice and weigh all stakes before speaking against those below you with something to lose, or if it's worth speaking up and losing what little you have.

Jon Ronson reading ICP lyrics will always cheer me up. Woop woop.
Coraline (Graphic Novel) by Neil Gaiman

Amazing, and extremely scary children's story. Coraline is bold, adventurous, and wise beyond her years. The graphic novel is even spookier than the film adaptation, and the Other Mum is stuff nightmares are made of. The only bad thing is the presentation of Coraline herself. She looks much older than imagined.
