This is the first book in the revamped Purple Oak Oasis Series. I really enjoyed getting to know Brew (Rooibos Brewster - Tea Witch) and Katie (Katheryn Fields - Dog Ward) in this story as well as Katie's dog familiar Banjo. Their relationship was fun to see develop from being longtime friends to more. This book also had a lot of other characters that I am looking forward to getting to know better as the series continues including both Brew & Katie's siblings.

🎊 Chapters 42 - 47: I really enjoyed the New Years Eve chapter in this volume and seeing Naruse meet all of Yuki's family. It was fun seeing all the different reactions and ways the different family members interacted with him. I look forward to reading the next volume.

I really enjoyed this prequel to the Brides of the Lonesome Creek Orcs series and am looking forward to reading more from this series. Greel was such a sweet character and I loved seeing how his and Jessi's feelings and relationship developed throughout the story as well as getting to know them each individually with the perspective changing to show both their views. Greel's family were also fun and I hope to see more of them and Jessi's grandmother in future books.
