Wish the story would've rhymed :/
Very unfortunate name for the horse. They could've came up with something else. Ebony? Noir? Midnight?? Anything.

What a perfect title for a book that is fiction. However this was not fiction! But I still had a fun time. Awad’s a good writer so I’ll read what she has to say. I giggled a handful of times too!

art is good but also funny looking in a way i found odd (specifically the faces of the characters in a lot of scenes). dialogue is also weird which i ordinarily wouldn't mind except that all the text is dialogue, there is no storytelling here that isn't conversation so its much more noticeable when it's clunky. other than that i had a good time and its a good message for the kids, can’t complain too much. didn't love the bts origin of the character being a dark skinned girl named flea... that lost some points.

Got this book 10 years ago for a college class. I picked a terrible time to read it (as i’m trying to finish as many books at the end of the year and I read nonfiction the slowest) but it's also a perfect time to read it (as a genocide inspired by a genocide inspired by this genocide is currently happening). The line or paragraph that sums it all up is along the lines of every holocaust is similar in many ways and unique in its own way. Above all each one is its own tragedy. We must take the time to learn about them all. We cannot look away. History always comes, either by knocking or burning down the door.

Now why wasn't miss girl named Izzy? Short for Isabela? Frizzy Izzy? Izzy "The Frizz"? That could've been her super hero name!

Of all the graphic novels I read this year this one had the most text. Which isn’t a complaint! I loved it. It was just a lot more reading than I'm used to (for graphic novels!)!

As a fellow nonbinary, as a person who is exactly like Nour, their issue is that they need to transition. Or they were suffering from autistic burnout. Or maybe it’s both. Or maybe I’m projecting but not really I know what I’m talkin about!

I feel like since I was born, and even before thinking about Rodney King, there's always been some sort of killing / murder of Black people (usually a man) in America in the summer that leads to a riot all because it was hot and tensions had been building up for the past ___ years. What's our future gonna look like with climate change / global warming making everything hotter? That was over a hundred years ago now and what’s changed really?
