Most other peoples’ edgelord phase ended at 13. Jesus.

I thought the author was poking fun at the “not like other girls” trope and the book would make fun of itself, but nope. The main character was just insufferable and arrogant for the sake of it. This book was gory for no reason. At least give me a deeper meaning to critique or explore. Give the protagonist some depth and a reason why she does what she does. Even sociopaths have their own reasoning and morality ideas that they use to make decisions.

This book is NOT a feminist book. Just because a woman is doing the SA’ing of women doesn’t make it okay. I found nothing profound in the horror or even entertaining about this book. I should honestly give it a 1, but too late.

If you want a good body horror book with better, more fleshed out characters and motivation, check out “The eyes are the best part” by Monika Kim. So much better.

Nebulous and beautiful. Unlike anything I’ve ever read.

This book does not read like YA (in the best way). Not only is it a great body/suspense horror book, but it explores the horrors of humanity, generational trauma, and mental health. Definitely recommend.
