The format of this book is odd & fresh which drew me in. I don’t normally write reviews but this book is so… something. I’m not sure I can articulate it. I read it practically in one sitting. It’s a book that is odd in format and content, and challenges reality. Is the supernatural real or is the narrator unreliable? Maybe both. I don’t know if I’d say it was a good book, but it was interesting and well written. It’s one of those rare books where the language just clicks in my brain and I don’t find myself re-reading paragraphs. If you want a unique experience then read this book.

At first it bothered me that there was no motive or explanation for the memory police, but as I read I accepted it as part of the story. What begins as a seemingly realistic depiction of the world transforms into a more absurd tale.
