The animal perspectives are reading as gimmicky to me, and that’s the whole book.
Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love, and Liberty by Hillary Rodham Clinton
This is the only book I’ve read by HRC. I enjoyed it and it left me feeling encouraged to fight as hard as I can for the next four years.
At times HRC is relatable, and at others I’d say she veers on unlikable. But without her directly saying it, I truly wonder how much of that is a product of the media projecting that message for literal decades.
She’s a spectacular person who has accomplished so much.

I did not like the writing, the flat characters, and exceptionally slow pace.

This was by definition a very good middle grades scifi novel about time travel and social/environmental issues around the year 2000. The characters and story just didn’t resonate with me, despite being 13 at the turn of the century.

This was lovely, but the end felt a bit rushed for me. The audio was very well done and the characters were realistically flawed.

Five stars, no notes. Sapphic romance, found family, grief, end of life, everything in this is beautiful, stunning, and so real.
