What a book. Feels like it took forever to get through it. Not exactly the easiest book to read, especially since many of the characters have the same name and we jump back and fourth between past, present and future. The writing style is ingenious though, I definitely understand why it's considered a great classics. I think a bit more knowledge about the Bible would have made some parts more comprehensible as I believe there were quite a few allusions to it throughout the book.
Not the best choice of book for me right now (or perhaps ever?), but as I said, I can still understand why it's a great book.

Very enjoyable book,  easily read. A bit sad. It catched my attention almost immediately and I didn't lose interest at any point throughout the entire book.

I enjoyed reading this book and got really into the story. I liked the overall plot and general idea/message(s), but there was too much focus on sex. I guess detailed descriptions of (hetero) sex is just not my thing. Another thing I found critical was the fact that Anna's musical career/path seems quite unrealistic, and the way she talks about music (for instance calling violin pieces for "songs") made it hard for me to see her as a violinist.
Despite these two flaws, however, I enjoyed the book. Some of her struggles were relatable and the first person narration gives the reader a close connection to both Anna and Quan.
I'd recommend this book to young adults, especially if they want to know more about the effect of "masking" and ASD in general.

Very well written, it got my attention almost immediately and made me want to read further. The plot was inspiring, but not that original; A lot of it focuses on the tragic past and trauma of the heroine, who manages to climb up despite a lot of challenges (ex. sexism, rape, death) because of her stupendous intellect. I guess I'm a fan of more atypical plots. But still very much enjoyed reading this book (especially the chemistry parts of it) and I definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to read an entertaining and relaxing book!

Actually didn't completely finish it, as I managed to forget it on the train... But the short stories I did were good. Some of them didn't quite appeal to me but nevertheless I enjoyed reading them.

Very well-written, though I did not always get what she was trying to communicate with the stories. Really enjoyed reading it regardless.

Fun idea! First time reading a quadrilingual book. Some of the descriptions were (in my opinion) not translated very well though.
