Once again, Stephen King hast written a brilliant piece. It's been years since I read a Stephen King Novel, so I was hesitant going into this book because to be honest, his writing can get a little dense and hard to follow. The character list at the beginning was a huge help and I appreciated that it was added considering there were so many characters within this novel.

The format of poems was a very interesting way to tell the story of Mary Shelley. I've never been a big fan of Frankenstein, but after having one of my Y Club kids ask me about the monster, I grew interested. This book was a wonderful way for me to get into the mind of Mary Shelley without it being too boring to me.

I had no real interest in reading this book the first time I had picked it up, but after meeting Laurell K Hamilton at a book signing, I gave the book another try and found that I really enjoyed it. I'm re-reading the entire series because there have been several books released since the last I read, but I still found the book to be enjoyable and was even asking myself when certain characters would show up, but remembering they don't appear until later in the series.

I honestly forgot how gory this book was u til I read it again, so if you have a weak stomach, I'd suggest another book. This book was an interesting read because I forgot how strong Anita was after receiving help from Jean Claude, but it frustrates me how she keeps refusing him. I get why she doesn't want to be around him or even be his human servant, but as he's told her, she can benefit so much from taking the last two steps to being a true human servant if she'd just do it.

I loved the different stories that were presented in the book and how the different ghouls tried to live their lives while interacting with the humans in the world. I think my favorite story was the one with Hide and how he was trying his best to believe that Ken wasn't a ghoul, even going as far as to planting food in Ken's bag so the other students would leave him alone. That's friendship right there and makes me sad about what happens in the manga with these two.

Still a wonderful read and a great addition to any fan's collection of "Tokyo Ghoul."

The first time we see Tohru and her hat, I didn't put two and two together that the young boy had been Kyo and he was the one to save her. I know this is explained in further detail in a later volume, but I loved how Tohru said the young boy had been her first love.

When I had first read the series, I shipped Tohru and Kyo because I liked how cute and loving the two of them were towards one another. Being able to read that story from the begining again is wonderful and I can't wait to rediscover how their relationship blossoms into what it will become.
