This started off reading like a standard romantasy, then it got REALLY good. I absolutely loved the second half of this book. There were so many twists and reveals and things that made me excited for the next book.

I've read (and loved) the original Bone Season but this author's preferred version hits different. It is perfect. I listened to this on audiobook (brilliantly narrated by Alana Kerr Collins) and I loved it.

This was a brilliant rollercoaster of a read. I loved in. Ellen is an absolute delight. A perfect read for anyone who has worked in a toxic office environment or daydreamed about unaliving an annoying coworker.

I wanted to love this. But I can't get on board with the insta love that's developed. We've gone from this guy being awful to her loving him in just a few pages with no explanation of how or why.

This book is uncovering ancient Egyptian artefacts with magic and a family that really puts the "fun" in dysfunctional. I enjoyed it. Parts were a bit on the slow side for me but the last chapter ruined me and I will be needing the next book now.

Bletchley Park, politics and war with dragons. Everything is better with dragons. This book also reflects on mortality, control and the power of language. An absolute banger.
